This boot is ideal for Scottish winter walking and even mountaineering but on a long Himalayan trek it may prove to be too stiff depending on what altitude you are going to as many of the walks are on very good paths that don’t need a crampon compatible boot. The footwear required depends on the region that you are going to, the time of year and what altitude. We sell boots to get you to the top of Everest but they have very different qualities to an ordinary trekking boot. You should speak to someone who has experience in the trekking in the region you are going to. A Scarpa SL would be better suited for trekking below the snow line.
